Description

The columns around the tennis court at Purbeck House date from around 1850 and were re-erected in 1875. They are made of cast iron in the Tuscan style and were originally part of the former Billingsgate Market. Some of the columns are topped with stone balls that resemble those found on the King Alfred Monument, while others feature tennis racquet frames.
