Description

Wake Court Farmhouse is a farmhouse consisting of two parts: a 16th-century north wing and an early 18th-century east wing. The 18th-century wing is rendered and colorwashed, featuring a hipped stone-slate roof with tiles along the ridge. It has two 20th-century brick replacement stacks located part-way along the ridge. The farmhouse has two storeys and an attic, with a four-window range. The windows are 20th-century three-light casements, except for the second bay which has a similar two-light window. There are three 20th-century two-light hipped dormers, all with single horizontal glazing bars. A 20th-century porch is located on the right side.

The 16th-century wing is constructed of coursed rubble and has a stone-slated, gabled-ended roof with stone coping and end 20th-century brick stacks. This wing is one and a half storeys tall and also has a four-window range. The south facade features 20th-century French doors set under segmental stone arches. The upper floor has hipped dormers with two-light casements, which also have single horizontal glazing bars. There is a 20th-century single-storey block at the southern intersection of the two ranges, and there is likely an 18th-century connecting range between the two main wings. The interior has been modernized but retains a fireplace with a chamfered bressummer and continuous jambs, along with some stop-chamfered beams.
