Description
Buckshaw House is a Grade II* listed house from the mid-18th century, featuring extensive alterations and additions from the 19th century. The building has rendered and ashlar walls with rusticated quoins and a hipped slate roof with brick stacks. Its symmetrical facade consists of two storeys and an attic, arranged in seven bays with a 2:3:2 configuration. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, and the central window above the door has a moulded surround with scrolled cheek pieces. The upper windows are adorned with stone aprons. The doorway features a segmental pediment set within an ashlar architrave and is supported by reeded consoles. There is a first-floor plat-band, and the upper floor is a 19th-century addition. Inside, all features date from the late 19th century.
