Description

Manston Farmhouse is a house dating from the mid to late 17th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings, and has a gable ended roof covered in interlocking tiles, featuring a central brick stack. The facade is symmetrical, with two storeys and an attic, originally featuring a three-window range. The ground floor has two 4-light stone mullioned windows on either side of a 20th-century 2-light window which replaces a former doorway. Above, there are two 3-light 20th-century casement windows flanking a similar 2-light window. A string course runs between the floors. Later extensions have been added. Internal features, as recorded by the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments, include one room with three chamfered ceiling beams, with run-out stops.
