Description

Manston House is a house with origins in the 17th century, but substantially rebuilt in 1857. It is constructed of ashlar, with a gabled slate roof concealed behind a parapet and with stone stacks at each end. The building is two storeys high with attics. The front facade is arranged with three bays, in a 1:1:1 configuration. The outer bays have three-light mullioned and transomed windows with glazing bars. The upper-floor central window is of a similar style, but with two lights. A pedimented doorway is flanked by pilasters, and contains a double, part-glazed door. A rear wing contains some 17th-century stone mullioned windows.
