Description
The Old Rectory is a house comprising a north range dating from around 1780, a south range from around 1800, and an early 19th-century cottage that extends the north range. The north range is constructed of rubble and render with ashlar dressings, while the north cottage is of brick. The building has slate roofs with stone copings and brick end stacks.
The south facade is two storeys and an attic, and is symmetrical with five bays. It features sash windows with glazing bars and moulded architraves. A central glazed double door is marked by moulded architraves, and is topped with a round fanlight. There are two gabled dormers with 2-light casements that lack glazing bars. The earlier north range incorporates some stone mullioned windows and dormers with leaded lights. Internally, it retains shallow chamfered spine beams with run-out stops. A stable range is located to the rear, containing large carriage doors.
