Description
Rodmore Farm is a farmhouse located on Blackrow Lane in Lydlinch, dated 1610, as noted on a scratched inscription on a roof truss. The building is constructed of coursed rubble and features a slate roof with gable ends, along with brick and stone stacks at the ends. There is a possible original lean-to on the left and a single-storey extension on the right. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a three-window range. It has been restored and includes 20th-century inserted stone and concrete mullioned windows with hollow chamfers, arranged in configurations of 2, 3, and 4 lights. There is also a 20th-century two-light casement window with glazing bars in the outshut. In the outshut to the west, there are two two-light stone mullioned windows with hollow chamfers, the lower of which shows traces of a label. The west gable features a round stone chimney, similar to those found at Glanville's Wootton, Round Chimney's Farm. Inside, the farmhouse includes chamfered beams, an open fireplace with a chamfered bresummer, and two corner fireplaces on the upper floor. The roof is supported by a collar truss.
