Description

The gateway and bridge at the entrance to Eastbury House, located over the River Tarrant, date from the early 18th century and are probably designed by Sir John Vanburgh. The structure is made of ashlar stone and features rusticated detailing with ball finials. These finials are connected by plain screen walls that also have smaller ball finials. There are round-headed niches on part of the side. The bridge itself has a round ashlar arch with rusticated voussoirs. The main gateway is connected to two pairs of similar piers by a low brick wall topped with railings.
