Description

The Old Rectory is an early 19th-century house located on Church Lane in West Parley. It is constructed of stucco with a plinth and stone cills. The house has a low-pitched slate roof with widely-spaced brackets supporting a broad eaves soffit.

The east front is symmetrical, featuring a two-storey, three-window arrangement with sash windows set in reveals. A simple porch sits centrally; it has a blocking course, cornice, frieze supported by coupled brackets, a fanlight above the entrance, and double doors. The south (garden) elevation is also symmetrical, with four windows of similar design to the east front, but with French casements on the ground floor. A service building in an L-shape is located on the north side of the house. To the west of the south front is a plain structure, likely a former chapel, with a porch.
