Description
South Lodge is a detached cottage located on Brownsea Island, dating from the late 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The building features plastered walls and a tiled roof that has overhanging bargeboards at the gables and an ornamental ridge. It has a T-shaped plan and is designed in the 'cottage orne' style, standing two storeys tall. The central entrance is a flush door, while the ground floor includes two 2-light windows with arched lights and ornamental glazing. The first floor has three similar windows, complete with shutters, situated under projecting gables. South Lodge is a property of the National Trust.
