Description
Brockhampton Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, which underwent extensive remodeling in the 18th century. The ground floor is constructed of coursed rubble, while the first floor is made of brick, featuring a brick plat band. The house has a thatched roof with a gable end on the left and a hipped end on the right. The left gable includes stone coping, and there are brick stacks located at the left end and partway along the ridge on the right.
A projecting two-storey, hipped brick porch is present, and the building has two storeys and an attic with a four-window range featuring three-light 20th-century casements with leaded lights. There are also similar two-light casements in the dormers. The ground floor windows are set under segmental brick arches, while the porch features a round brick arch with rubbed brick imposts. The right and left sides of the porch have oval bulls-eye windows with ashlar surrounds.
Inside, the farmhouse includes a cross passage flanked by reeded plank and muntin partitions. There is a fireplace with chamfered stone jambs and a bressumer, along with deep stop-chamfered ceiling beams.
