Description
The Old Rectory is a rectory, now a private house, built around 1850 by Benjamin Ferrey. It features Flemish bond brickwork and a tiled roof with stone copings at the ends and brick kneelers. The building has two parallel ranges and is designed in the Tudor style, with two storeys and attics, and three bays. On the ground floor, there are four-light stone mullioned and transomed windows with moulded labels that continue as a string course. The first floor has two three-light stone mullioned and transomed windows flanking a central single light window, all of which have returned, moulded labels. The attic includes two gabled dormers with two-light stone mullioned windows, and the casements have octagonal pattern glazing bars. The main doorway in the north-east wing features a moulded four-centred head. Inside, there are stone fireplace surrounds with moulded four-centred heads.
