Description

The Lepers' Well is a rectangular structure, believed to date from the 14th century or earlier. It is said to be the only surviving element of a medieval hospital for people with leprosy. The building is constructed of blue lias stone and features a round-headed, barrel-vaulted recess. This recess has low, projecting blocks of stone along its inner return at ground floor level.
