Description

No 383 on High Street is a traditional Purbeck cottage, likely dating from the 17th century, though it has been somewhat altered. The walls are made of Purbeck Stone and are colourwashed, topped with a Purbeck Stone roof and featuring a brick chimney stack. The building is one storey with an attic. The doorway has a raised cement surround that imitates stone quoins and includes a half-glazed door. There are two modern windows on the ground floor and two part-dormers in the attic, each with pent roofs and modern casement windows. This cottage is noted as RCHM Monument 64.
