Description
Box Cottage is a detached cottage that was formerly one of a pair, with the other cottage now demolished. It dates back to the 17th century and was altered in the 19th century. The cottage has rubble stone walls and a stone slate roof, with rebuilt brick end stacks. It is two storeys high and features single-storey lean-to additions at each end; the left addition has a concrete tiled roof, while the right has a stone slate roof. The cottage has a ledged door, and the ground floor includes one stone mullioned window with a hoodmould and one casement window with horizontal glazing bars. On the first floor, there are two similar casement windows. The front boundary wall is made of stone and has irregular coping.
