Description
The road bridge located to the south-east of Lower Burton Mill is a Grade II listed structure. It is built of red brick in stretcher bond, with stone used for the arches. The bridge runs north to south and spans the river with three elliptical-headed arches, featuring dressed-stone voussoirs. The two outer arches are slightly narrower than the central arch. To enhance stability, two iron ties have been added through the bridge on either side of the central arch. The parapet walls are plain and topped with stone copings. At the south end of the east face, the bridge ends in a brick pier, while the west side has an attached stone rubble wall that serves as the boundary for Lower Burton Mill.
