Description
The Castellated Archway, located approximately 200 meters south-west of St Giles' House, is a folly believed to date from 1748. It is constructed of ashlar stone with bands of rock-faced heathstone rustication. The interior is lined with brickwork and features an embattled design. The central semi-circular rusticated archway is flanked by two round towers, each with casements that have lozenge-shaped panes and ashlar architraves. Above the casements are blind round panels, and the structure includes studded plank doors with ashlar architraves.
