Description

The Coombe comprises a part-19th century building in Penzance, situated on Coombe Lane. Constructed primarily of granite ashlar, it features a prominent string course, corner pilasters, sill aprons, and recessed architraves. The roof is slate, with overhanging eaves. The main section has two storeys and three windows, with sash windows incorporating glazing bars. An open entrance porch is supported by two granite Doric columns and an entablature. A section of the building to the side dates from the 18th century and is distinguished by a modillion eaves cornice and two slightly projecting splayed bays. This older section also has two storeys and five windows.
