Description

The buildings at 14 and 16 Church Street date to the mid-19th century. They are constructed of stone rubble with granite dressings. The two-storey buildings have three sash windows on each floor, with marginal glazing bars set within rusticated granite architraves. Rusticated granite quoins and architraves frame the doorways, which feature semi-circular fanlights, glazed and panelled doors. The ground floor windows are larger and later, one serving as a shop window. The roofs are covered in slate. The buildings are included on the list solely for their group value, contributing to the character of Nos 14 to 26 (even) Church Street when considered together.
