Description

This is a disused drinking fountain located about 5 metres north of the Queens Arms public house in Constantine. It was probably built in the mid to late 19th century. The fountain is made of granite and is a small, approximately half-metre high, round-headed block with a round-headed niche at the front. Inside the niche, there is a stopped pipe instead of a tap. The granite block shows some damage at the top and left side. It stands in front of a low wall made of massive granite blocks, with a curved block on the corner that is dated 1889. This fountain is one of a series of six surviving drinking fountains that supplied water to Constantine, piped from the top of the village.
