Description

Clapperbridge is a narrow road bridge located 100 metres southeast of Allansford, dating from the 19th century or earlier. It is constructed from granite and stone rubble and features a five-span design typical of clapper bridges. The bridge spans two tributaries of the River Allan, with two spans over the stream coming from the north and three spans over the stream from the east. It has stone rubble piers, including a wide pier near the center, and uses granite monolithic lintels for spanning.
