Description

The Baulking House is a building from around the early 19th century. It features painted rubble stone walls and a brick front, topped with a gabled roof covered in scantle slating. The structure has two storeys and includes two horizontal sliding sash windows on the ground floor, with a loft door positioned above. Located high up, it served as a huer's lookout, where watchers monitored for pilchard shoals and directed the seine boats.
