Description
The Cholwill chest tomb and two other chest tombs are located about 5 metres southeast of the Church of St Morwenna. These tombs date from the late 18th century and are made of brick and freestone, with slate lids. The southernmost tomb in the group is brick and features an inscribed slate lid commemorating Thomas Cholwill, who died in 1757. The similar tomb to the northeast of the Cholwill tomb has an illegible inscription. The westernmost tomb is constructed from freestone ashlar and also has a slate lid, but its inscription is illegible.
