Description
Oldclims is a farmhouse that likely dates from the mid-17th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of roughcast slate-stone and features a slate roof. The building has a three-unit through-passage plan and includes a twin-gabled addition at right angles to the rear on the right side. It stands two storeys high and has three 16-paned glazing bar sash windows (with the left window being horned) positioned directly below the eaves towards the center. To the left, there is a 20th-century eight-paned sash window, and to the right of a roughly central 20th-century door, there is a 4-light 20th-century casement window, all situated under a flat hood. There is a tapering ridge stack immediately to the left of the entrance, with an integral end stack to the right, both featuring slate drips. The right gable end has two prominent semi-circular cloam oven projections and a two-storey lean-to attached. The interior could be of interest, but it was not possible to inspect it during the resurvey in December 1987.
