Description
This is a disused drinking fountain dating from the mid to late 19th century, located against the end wall of a cottage at No 74 Fore Street in Constantine. The fountain is made of granite and stands about 1 metre tall, featuring a small round-headed design with a niche at the front. Inside the niche, there is a stopped pipe instead of a tap, and a wrought iron bar spans the front of the niche. In front of the fountain, there is a granite block that likely served as a bucket stand. This fountain is one of six surviving drinking fountains that provided water to the village, piped from the top of Constantine.
