Description

Two headstones, dating from 1766 and 1779, are located 5 metres to the south of the south aisle of the Church of St. James. They commemorate William Inch and his daughter Mary, who died in 1766, and William, the son of Hugh and Susanna Pooley, who died in 1779. The earlier headstone is made of slate and features a nowy-head, while the later headstone, also slate, has a nowy-head and curved corners. Both headstones are inscribed with upper and lower case lettering that includes serifs.
