Description
This is a cottage occupied by Mrs. Wakfer and an adjoining cottage to the east, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, with a refronting from the late 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed granite and features a slate roof with two low-pitched gables topped with terra cotta finials. It has one storey and a basement, with three large sash windows that have revealed casings and no glazing bars. There are steps with railings leading up to the doorways, and the basement door is positioned off centre. This cottage is included for its group value alongside Mrs. Wakfer's cottage and the adjoining cottages, known as Nos 1 to 3 Wharf Cottages, as well as the William Fisher Gallery and Wharf House, which together form a cohesive group.
