Description
Trevryn is a house from the late 17th century, constructed with colourwashed stone and cob on the upper floor, topped with a thatched roof. The layout consists of two main rooms with a central lobby hall; the original kitchen is on the right and the living hall is on the left, both featuring gable stacks. At the rear, there is a lean-to structure (linhay) under the same roof. A staircase rises across the back of the hall from the original kitchen. There is a thatched stable attached to the left gable, which is now used as a dairy.
The front elevation includes a boarded door with a heavy frame set within a brick lean-to that has a slated open porch. The house features two light paned casement windows with timber lintels and brick stacks at the gables. The dairy has mid-20th century metal windows and a porch. Inside, the house has wide spaced unmoulded ceiling joists that support bead-moulded floorboards. The fireplaces have been altered, and there is likely a concealed cloam oven in the former kitchen. The rafters are widely spaced and have a low pitch, and there is an elementary stairwell rail.
