Description

This gas lamp, located approximately 2 metres from the north-west corner of The Exchange in Bristol, dates from the mid-19th century. It is made of cast iron and features an octagonal base adorned with overhanging leaves. The lamp has bulbs at both the top and bottom of the shaft, with additional leaves at the top and curved brackets supporting a large glazed lamp that is topped with acroteria and a finial. This lamp is part of a pair, with the other lamp located at the north-east corner of The Exchange.
