Description

Numbers 318 and 320 are a pair of houses built in the late 18th to early 19th century. They are constructed of limestone ashlar, featuring rendered gable stacks and a pantile valley roof. The houses have a double-depth plan, with 2 storeys. Number 318 has a symmetrical front with three windows, while number 320 has a single-window range and is lower and set back. The front of number 318 includes a plat band, pilasters, a frieze, a cornice, and a small parapet. It features a semicircular-arched doorway with a fluted architrave, imposts, and a key, along with a door that has six fielded panels and a fanlight with glazing bars. Above this doorway is a similar window with 2/2-pane sashes set within semicircular-arched sunken panels. Number 320 has a semicircular-arched doorway on the left side and plain sash windows. The interior has not been inspected. The properties are complemented by attached front garden walls that have ashlar piers with rubble insets at the left-hand garden entrance, a snecked garden wall that curves to the steps and entrance of the right-hand garden, and spiked railings with a gate.
