Description
Priory Cottage is a medieval building, originally the Porters' Lodge for Christchurch Priory. It was restored in the early 16th century by the last Prior. The building is constructed of stone rubble, with a stone slate roof to the upper portion, and tiling to the lower portion. It is two storeys high and has two windows with casement frames and leaded glazing. One first-floor window has a gable breaking through the eaves, featuring a dripstone mould and an arched mullioned light above. The front door is round-arched with six glazed panels. Priory Cottage forms a group with The Priory and the ruins and church of Christchurch Priory.
