Description
The Church of St Barnabas, built between 1862 and 1863, was designed by architect G E Street. This small chapel, which was originally also used as a school, is constructed of red brick with stone dressings. It features a nave and chancel under a continuous tiled roof, and a small bellcote covered with shingles is located at the west end. There is a chimney stack on the north side of the west gable. The west window consists of three lights with plate tracery, while the small porch on the south-west has a gambrel roof. The nave windows are coupled cusped lancets, and the chancel window has three lights with Geometric tracery.
