Description

Hill Coach House is an 18th-century building constructed of Bath stone with a slate roof. It has a rectangular plan and stands parallel to No. 23 Bathwick Hill, set at an angle to the road. The elevations to the east and west are tripartite. The western elevation, originally blank, now features a door inserted into the left-hand bay and windows at a higher level. The eastern elevation incorporates a modern door in the right-hand bay, six-over-six pane sash windows in the other bays, and smaller windows to the upper floor. Slightly projecting end pilasters are present, along with a central bay featuring a string course at first-floor level, a frieze, and a raised parapet above. The ends are pedimented; the north (street) elevation has an incised panel in the upper level above the blind wall. The south elevation shows three windows inserted at first floor level, above a late 20th-century extension. The interior has not been inspected.
