Description
The horse trough at the junction with Warminster Road was built around 1906. It is a standard granite trough, similar to those used by the Metropolitan Cattle Trough and Drinking Fountain Association in London. The top trough features a gabled water inlet at one end, with a drinking fountain located on the back. The trough is supported by two solid legs, which are protected from cartwheels by half round bollards. There are also lower troughs for dogs. An inscription on the trough reads: "ERECTED BY MAJOR BRICKMANN JP 1906 ALDERMAN OF THE CITY OF BATH."
