Description
The building is a garden shelter designed as a Greek Doric temple, located in the grounds of the Bath Spa Hotel, approximately 30 meters to the west. It was constructed after 1835 and is made of limestone ashlar. The temple has a square plan and features steps leading up to the front. It is supported by two fluted Doric columns positioned 'in-antis', which hold up a triglyph frieze, cornice, and a pediment adorned with anthemion acroteria at the apex, ends, and returns. This structure was built as one of the main decorative features of Vellore, a villa created for retired Indian Army General Andrews, who developed a notable Italianate villa garden there.
