Description
Gatepiers and flanking walls, built in the early to mid 19th century for the Strutt family of St. Catherine's Court, are located 25 yards to the northeast of the court. The gatepiers are made of ashlar stone and designed in a 17th-century style, featuring Ionic pilasters that are fluted at the base with a diamond motif and arms above. The frieze also displays a diamond motif, and there is a dentilled cornice. The flanking walls consist of ashlar stone in the upper part and coursed rubble in the lower part, ending in piers topped with ball finials.
