Description
The Crown Hotel, located on High Street, dates from around 1840, although its interior features remnants of a timber-framed house from the 15th to 16th century. The building stands three storeys high with a basement and is finished in stucco. It has a slate roof with a bracket eaves cornice. There are seven windows in total, with glazing bars on the ground floor and vertical glazing bars on the upper floors. The hotel has two simple doorcases, one of which includes a rectangular fanlight. On the right side of the ground floor, there is a depression indicating the presence of a dragon beam. Inside, the restaurant features a beamed ceiling and an inglenook fireplace. An early 19th-century staircase with turned balusters is also present.
