Description
No 48 on High Street is a Grade II listed building that consists of two adjoining timber-framed structures that have been repaired and restored. The buildings feature mostly original timber framing with modern white filling. The left-hand building is a combination of timber frame and brick. On the ground floor, there are three double-hung sash windows with glazing bars and cased frames. Above, there is one 18th-century three-bay window, along with two 18th-century dormers. The original 16th-century ledged door has a chamfered four-centre head. At the rear, there are two large wings that are partly timber and partly tile-hung, as well as a partly original brick chimney stack. Nos 34 to 50 on High Street form a group.
