Description

Little Hammond’s Farmhouse is a timber-framed building dating to the late 16th to early 17th century. It was later refaced in brick in the 18th century and extended in the late 19th century. The farmhouse is two storeys high and originally comprised four bays, with the easternmost two bays added in the late 19th century. The ground floor is brick, with the westernmost section dating to the 18th century and constructed in English bond brickwork with a base of sandstone rubble. The first floor is weatherboarded. The roof is tiled and half-hipped, with two clustered brick stacks and three gabled dormers dating to the late 19th century. The western part of the building retains exposed timber framing, featuring upright posts with jowls and some curved braces.
