Description
The former cartshed and granary at Broadhurst Manor is a late 16th-century structure that has been altered in the 20th century. It is currently used for poultry. The building features a ground floor made of red brick and a first floor that is timber-framed with plastered infill, topped with a thatched roof that is hipped to the north and half-hipped to the south. The structure consists of three bays and has an open front on the ground floor on the east side. The timber framing includes jowled posts, box-framing, and diagonal corner tension braces. There are 20th-century openings on the east, north, and west fronts within the frame. Access to the first floor is provided by a 20th-century wooden staircase. The roof has staggered purlins, and there is a 20th-century wooden extension at the rear that is not of special interest.
