Description
Borde Hill Place is a large house located on Borde Hill Lane, built with the west front constructed by Stephen Boord in 1598. The house has two storeys and features three windows, made of ashlar stone. It is topped with a tiled roof and has three gables with finials. The windows are casement style with stone mullions. A gabled porch displays the date 1598 along with the initials S. B. The north-facing return front of the original section also has three windows. Inside, the house boasts 16th-century panelling, fireplaces, a staircase, and an ornamental plaster ceiling. There were significant additions made around 1900 at the east end of the building.
