Description

The White Telephone Kiosk on The Green is a Grade II listed K6 telephone kiosk designed in 1935 by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. It is made of cast iron and has a square plan, painted white. The exterior features a domed roof and an unperforated crown above a rectangular panel that is opaque glazed and marked 'TELEPHONE.' The windows and door have margin glazing. Inside, the white paint continues, and there is modern telephone apparatus. This kiosk was painted white in the 1940s at the request of Sir Thomas Dundas, who lived at The Old Rectory nearby. This telephone kiosk is an important feature in the Slaugham Conservation Area and has good group value with several nearby listed buildings.
