Description
Hyes is a house that likely dates from the 17th century or earlier, although it was restored, refaced, and enlarged in the early 20th century. The only visible sign of its age on the exterior is a moulded bressumer in the center of the south front. The house has an H-shaped layout, with the older part forming the central section. It is two storeys high and features four windows. The ground floor is constructed of red brick with grey headers, while the upper floor is faced with fishscale tiles. The roof is made of Horsham slabs, and the windows are casement style. At each end of the house, there are later projections that include one window bay with a gable above, designed to match the original style. The north wings of the house are also modern additions.
