Description

Furnace House is likely the former residence of the iron-master who operated Furnace Mill and the nearby hammer mill. The original part of the building dates back to the 16th century and is timber-framed, with a stone and red brick facade on the ground floor and tile-hanging above. It features a tiled roof with a pentice at the back and has two storeys with four casement windows. Additionally, a stone extension with two window bays was added to the right side of the house in 1738.
