Description
This building is a barn located to the northwest of Woodmancote Place, dating from the 16th century or earlier, with alterations made in the 18th century and in 1804. It is timber-framed and clad in weatherboarding, with the east end constructed of flint featuring a date plaque from 1804 and the initials IAD. The barn has a hipped tiled roof and forms an L-shaped range that includes an integral cart shelter at the east end, along with two cart entrances.
The north-south range consists of four bays, featuring jowled posts and a crown post type roof, although the crown post appears to be from the 18th century. The rafters are also from the 18th century, with an inserted ridgepiece. There is an inserted floor in the northernmost two bays. The west-east range has three bays and showcases a varied collection of mainly jowled upright posts, along with an 18th-century through purlin roof. The shelter retains some original weatherboarding, and the east-west range seems to have been assembled in the 18th century using reused timbers.
