Description
Rusper Court House, also known as Rusper Court Place and Rusper Court Manor, was originally a single house called Rusper Court or Court House and is now divided into three dwellings. This L-shaped building dates from the late 16th century or early 17th century and has been significantly enlarged to create a half H-plan layout. The south front has been rebuilt in red brick on the ground floor and is tile hung above, while the north face of the wing retains exposed timber framing with brick infilling. The building is two stories high with four windows in the original section. There is a brick chimney breast in the center of the south front featuring a half stepped brick gable, and an ashlar chimney breast at the east end of the south wing. The roof is covered with Horsham slabs and includes a tile-hung gabled turret with a cupola at the west end. Although modern casement windows are present at the front, some original windows with small square panes can be found behind. Large additions have been made to the north and north-west, contributing to the half H-plan design.
