Description

Abbeylands Farmhouse is a restored timber-framed building, possibly dating from the 17th century or earlier. It is said to derive its name from a small hospital for sick clergy that was founded on the site by a Bishop of Chichester. The ground floor is mostly refaced with red brick, while the upper floor is tile-hung, with some original timbering still visible. The roof is tiled, and the windows are casement style. The house is two storeys and has an attic in a half-hipped gable, featuring tile windows.
