Description

Spikemead Farmhouse is a timber-framed building dated 1604 based on documentary evidence. It features a central smoke bay and a cross passage, with an added kitchen to the north. The farmhouse has one storey and attics, with the ground floor constructed of red brick and the first floor tile hung. The roof is tiled and includes three dormers. There are three casement windows and a gabled brick porch. A large chimney breast is located on the south wall, and there is an inglenook hearth with an oven beside the outside back of the added kitchen bay.
