Description

St Barbe Cottage is a probably early 18th century, timber-framed, three-bay house with the chimney located within the smaller end bay. The building has two storeys, with the ground floor constructed of red brick and the first floor featuring diamond-shaped tile hanging. It has a half-hipped tiled roof and two casement windows. The original entrance has been incorporated into a bay window, and there is a simple doorcase on the end elevation.

There is a mid-19th century two-storey extension to the south, with the ground floor made of pointed brick and the first floor hung with curved tiles. Inside the original wing, there is an open fireplace, and a cupboard to the left of the fireplace originally held a stair ladder. The pathway leading to the cottage is made of Charlwood stone.
