Description

Drungewick Manor is a house, originating in 1559, with subsequent development into the 17th-19th centuries. The Bishops of Chichester formerly held the manor, and in the 17th-19th centuries it was occupied by the Onslow family. It is a timber-framed building that has undergone restoration and enlargement, particularly in the 19th century and more recently. The structure is now brick-faced on the ground floor and tile-hung above, both finished with paint. The roof is covered with Horsham slabs. The windows are casement types. The house is two storeys high and irregularly shaped. The north front features three projections with four gables. The south-west front has two projecting wings. A significant portion of the moat from the original fortified house remains.
